[Magpie Tales #44]
The snow falls
freezing you to
my heart
I become numb
at long last
The cold you
have mastered
enraptures me
with it's icy grasp
There you lay
in a bed of white
still, quiet, naked
preserved dead
And I
just slide away
as the snow falls
this one makes me just want to cry for some reason. who was it?
ReplyDeleteThe addict, the alcoholic, the victim I once was.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteLoved:freezing you to
my heart
And your white Blog pages add to this snowy feel admirably!
ReplyDelete*shiver*
ReplyDeletedeath of the addiction....brilliant piece my friend. I know I gush over most everything you write, but it is all amazing, truly:)
ReplyDeletewow- powerful
ReplyDelete'And I
ReplyDeletejust slide away
as the snow falls'
I like these lines, the feeling of departing.
And I/just slide away
ReplyDeleteIs amazing. Excellent piece.
Marvellously alive with cold.
ReplyDeletei love the line where you say " i just slide away" makes me feel like you found a better way to live and moved on..bravo well done
ReplyDeletelol - i'm joining David in a gush-fest.
ReplyDeleteyou rock my world, Mr.Rabbit-man. ;)
so much strength here....and the image of you sliding away -- perfect, just perfect.
xo
I like the lines /still. quiet, naked/
ReplyDeletepreserved dead/ for it opens the
door to other symbols and
interpretations. Interesting and
very chilling take on a movie
sled and moody poem from
Willow. I thought I was out there
with my mag about the now,
today, late fall, the day John
Lennon died--but you are
arctic leagues beyond me
in some white wildnerness
of wild poetics, Good job.
The second verse I love it!
ReplyDelete"And I
ReplyDeletejust slide away
as the snow falls "
wonderful lines to end this great poem with..
well done my friend!!!
Powerful piece, love 'And I slide away as the snow falls' to where the whiteness entraps.
ReplyDeleteYou have a way, sir...
ReplyDeleteI can feel the icicles...
ReplyDeleteDark, cold and packs a chilling punch!
ReplyDeleteCold, and so sad...I like this..
ReplyDeletewho hid that story for us to find
The coldness of love, non-love? Intriguing.
ReplyDeleteNew Snow
Very eerie. Reminds me (in a good way) a bit of that song by The Todies, Possum Kingdom.
ReplyDeletePowerful piece..."I become numb at long last"...
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
ReplyDeleteThe cold has a seductive quality even as it freezes you--they say the pleasantest way to die is to freeze to death, but like you, I'd just as soon slide away.
ReplyDeletewow brother - I will have to really try hard to match this.
ReplyDeletethe creeper is a creepin'
ReplyDeletethis was darkly spectacular.
Sadly uplifting and cold in a warmhearted way - superb - i think i'll read it again
ReplyDeleteSparse and chilling.
ReplyDeletePerfect!
excellently written, i felt the finality.
ReplyDeletei feel the isolation and loss--well done!
ReplyDeleteOkay Rabbit.... you got me with this one. I find it original and clearly defined. I dare you to make me smile!
